Russian Baltic Fleet forces eliminate enemy warships in drills - TASS

Kaliningrad Region

The artillery units of the Baltic Fleet’s marine infantry assisted by teams of drones delivered strikes against a notional enemy’s warships and its amphibious assault force that attempted to land on the coast of the westernmost Kaliningrad Region during tactical drills, the Fleet’s press office reported on Thursday.

"The artillery units of the Baltic Fleet’s marine infantry held an exercise during battalion-level tactical drills at the Khmelyovka training ground for firing and fire control jointly with a new unit of unmanned aerial vehicles set up in a marine infantry formation at the end of 2020," the press office said in a statement.

The marine infantry employed Eleron-3 and Orlan-10 air surveillance and reconnaissance drones to detect the notional enemy’s amphibious assault forces on the approaches to the coastline and transmit their coordinates to the command observation post, the statement says.

In turn, the artillery troops delivered a strike by concentrated fire from Grad multiple launch rocket systems and Gvozdika self-propelled artillery guns against the notional enemy’s amphibious assault ships at sea and subsequently against the amphibious assault force landing onto the coast of the Kaliningrad Region, the press office said.
