Spanish poll suggests only 33.5 percent of Catalans would back independence

According to a poll published Monday just over a third of Catalans would vote for independence from the rest of Spain if a referendum were to be held now.


Spanish pollster Sigma Dos suggested that 58.3 percent would opt for the current status quo according to a survey commissioned and published by El Mundo, one of Spain's leading newspapers.
