Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin announced that the session of the UN Security Council on Syria scheduled to be held on Friday was cancelled because of Washington’s rejection to publish details on the truce regime.
Russia Today website mentioned that Churkin ruled out the possibility of reaching a resolution by the Security Council that would support the Russian-US deal regarding the truce regime as Washington rejected to make the deal public.
He said that the meeting of the Syria Support Group (ISSG) will be held in New York on September 20th, indicating that there will be a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his US counterpart John Kerry in the framework of the UN General Assembly.
