International sanctions on Iran have
been lifted after its compliance with obligations under its nuclear
agreement with world powers was certified.
The international nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, said its inspectors had verified that Iran had taken the required steps.
"As Iran has fulfilled its commitments, today multilateral and national economic and financial sanctions related to Iran's nuclear programme are lifted."
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is the UN’s nuclear watchdog, has released a statement saying that Iran has carried out all of the measures required under its deal with six world powers.
