Malta says to help Italy relocate migrants aboard two ships

Malta has pledged to take in an undisclosed number of the 450 migrants that were carried by two ships stuck at sea due to a diplomatic dispute between Italy and Malta, Maltese government said on Saturday.

Austria must honor refugee relocation deal, EU says

Austria must honor the EU refugee relocation agreement and will face consequences if withdraws from it, a European Commission spokeswoman said Tuesday in Brussels, reacting to Vienna's announcement that it will no longer participate in the program.

Japan Court Rejects Okinawa Move to Block US Base Relocation

A Japanese court ruled Friday that Okinawa Gov. Takeshi Onaga's revocation of a reclamation permit for a U.S. military base on the southern island was illegal, supporting the central government plan to go ahead with the reclamation despite protests by local residents.
