The US military has said no anti-aircraft weapons have been shipped to the militias it backs in Syria amid speculation the Russian Su-25 jet downed in Idlib, north-west Syria may have been shot down by a US-made missile.

Russian Su-25 jet downed in Syria, pilot killed – Defense Ministry

A Russian Su-25 jet has crashed in Idlib province in north-western Syria, the Russian Defence Ministry confirmed, adding that it was probably shot down by MANPAD. The pilot ejected but was killed by militants on the ground.

Turkey asks Russia to provide documents to probe incident with downed Russian bomber

Turkey is asking Russia to provide documents to investigate the case with a Russian Su-24 bomber downed by a Turkish fighter jet, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV Channel on Wednesday.
