Russia’s aircraft carrier-led group in Mediterranean is self-sufficient: Navy commander

Russia’s aircraft carrier-led naval task force in the Mediterranean is fully self-sufficient and does not have to pull into ports for replenishing reserves, the Navy’s commander-in-chief, Vladimir Korolyov, told the Rossiya-24 round-the-clock television news channel.

Strategic bombers hit positions for ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria: Russian MoD

Russian Defense Ministry announced on Thursday that strategic bombers of Russian air force directed airstrikes with Kaliber missiles against sites for ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria.

Airstrikes from Admiral Kuznetsov: 30 Nusra Members, Including Commanders, Eliminated in Syria

At least 30 militants from the Jabhat Fatah al Sham, also known as al-Nusra Front, or Jabhat al-Nusra, radical group, including a commander who had planned an offensive in Aleppo, were eliminated as a result of airstrikes launched from the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, a spokesperson of the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Russia withdraws request for carrier battle group to refuel in Spain amid NATO pressure on Madrid

Russia has withdrawn a request for its aircraft carrier group to be refuelled at the Spanish autonomous port of Ceuta, as the ships have already passed Gibraltar, a Russian Embassy source told RIA Novosti. Earlier, top NATO & EU officials expressed anger at reports of Spain’s decision to allow the stopover.
