“A missile shot down near Kyiv,” Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on the Telegram messaging channel in the early hours of Monday. “Air defence working!”
He added that blasts were heard in several districts of the city, including Kyiv’s historic neighbourhood of Podil, where falling debris damaged the roof of a house.
According to preliminary information from the mayor and the city’s military administration, there were no casualties in the overnight attacks.
Ukraine's air defense force shot down more than 40 Russian air targets moving towards Kyiv early on Monday, including drones and missiles, Kyiv's city military administration said in a statement on its Telegram messaging app.

ReplyDeleteAndrey Nebytov wrote on his Telegram channel that there was damage to "infrastructure facilities in several districts of the region."
At night, an air-raid alert was declared throughout Ukraine. There were reports of explosions in the capital, as well as in the regions of Vinnitsa, Zhitomir, Kiev, Kirovograd, Lvov, Odessa, Poltava and Khmelnitsky. In Odessa, authorities reported damage to port infrastructure and a fire. In Kiev, a fire also broke out in the Svyatoshinsky district.
