Liberation of Soledar completed in January 12, over 700 Soldiers destroyed in Soledar in 72 Hours

 

 1.The liberation of the city of Soledar from Ukrainian troops was completed on the evening of January 12, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"The liberation of the city of Soledar, which is important for the continuation of successful offensive actions in the Donetsk region, was completed on the evening of January 12," the ministry said.

2. Taking control of the city of Soledar by the Russian armed forces makes it possible to cut off the supply of Ukrainian troops in Bakhmut, also known as Artyomovsk, and then encircle them, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"The establishment of full control over Soledar allows cutting off the supply routes of Ukrainian troops in the southwestern city of Artyomovsk, and then blocking and encircling the units of the Ukrainian armed forces remaining in it," the ministry said in a statement.

3. More than 700 Ukrainian military and over 300 Ukrainian weapon units have been destroyed in Soledar in the past 72 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Only in the past three days, more than 700 Ukrainian military and over 300 units of Ukrainian armed forces have been destroyed in the area of the city of Soledar," the ministry said.

The ministry added that the complex of measures implemented by the Russian troops ensured the successful offensive actions to liberate Soledar.

4. Russia claims control of salt mine town Soledar - BBC News

Russia says it has taken control of Ukrainian salt mine town Soledar after a months-long battle, calling it a "crucial step".

The victory will allow Russian troops to cut off Ukrainian forces in the nearby larger city of Bakhmut, the defence ministry said.

Earlier, Ukraine said its forces were still fighting and that there had been active battles overnight.

The fighting around Soledar has been some of the bloodiest of the war.
