Moscow: US- backed terrorists use thousands of Syrian refugees as Human shields in Rukban camp – SANA

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that terrorist organizations backed and supervised by US occupation forces are using thousands of Syrian refugees as a Human Shields in Rukban Camp in al-Tanf area in Homs eastern countryside.

“Terrorist groups operated by the US are holding thousands of Syrian Refugees in Rukban camp and using them as a human shields amid tragic circumstances and an urgent need for food, water and medical care”, Deputy Chief of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria, Oleg Yegorov said in a press statement.

On Wednesday, a number of people who managed to escape from Rukban camp told SANA reporter that they were subjected to blackmailing as they paid money to those who helped them get out, pointing to the tragic harsh conditions they live in as well as the attempts to force their children to join those US-affiliated terrorist organizations.

Yegorov noted that the terrorists are blackmailing the refugees to pay huge sums of money to allow them to leave Rukban camp, adding that the US side had rejected the Russian proposal to allow the expert team of the Russian Reconciliation Center to go to the camp in order to assess the humanitarian situation there.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian and Russian coordination bodies for the return of the displaced Syrians have affirmed several times the insistence of the United States of America to delay the process of closing the camp and take all measures that ensure its forces complete control of al-Tanf area and continue to support and train the terrorists it uses to maintain tension and terrorism in Syria.
