Kamikaze drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant shot down

The military of the Russian Federation shot down a kamikaze drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the purpose of which was a spent nuclear fuel storage facility.

This was reported to journalists on Sunday, August 28, in the press service of the military-civilian administration  of Energodar.

“Servicemen of the RF Armed Forces shot down a kamikaze drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while its designated target was a storage facility for spent nuclear fuel, as evidenced by the flight path of the loitering munition. The drone crashed on the roof of the special building of the nuclear power plant," the press service said.

It is also reported that after hitting the roof, the wearable charge detonated, but there were no infrastructural damages and no human casualties.

On August 26, the head of the Energodar administration, Alexander Volga, reported that the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant was shelled from the American M777 howitzer. Earlier that day, Izvestia reported on yet another shelling of the ZNPP. The Armed Forces of Ukraine  fired at least four shells at the station, but there was no damage. Later there was another flight.

Военные РФ сбили над Запорожской АЭС дрон-камикадзе ВСУ, целью которого было хранилище отработанного ядерного топлива. Об этом в воскресенье, 28 августа, сообщили журналистам в пресс-службе военно-гражданской администрации (ВГА) Энергодара.

«Военнослужащие ВС РФ сбили дрон-«камикадзе» ВСУ, в то время как его установленной целью было хранилище отработанного ядерного топлива, о чем говорит траектория полета барражирующего боеприпаса. Крушение дрон потерпел на крыше спецкорпуса АЭС», — уточнили в пресс-службе.

Также сообщается, что после удара о крышу произошла детонация носимого заряда, однако никаких инфраструктурных повреждений и человеческих жертв нет.

26 августа глава администрации Энергодара Александр Волга сообщил об обстреле Запорожской АЭС из американской гаубицы M777. Ранее в этот день «Известия» рассказали об очередном обстреле ЗАЭС. Вооруженные формирования Украины (ВФУ) выпустили минимум четыре снаряда по станции, разрушений не было. Позднее произошел еще один прилет.
