Russian servicemen destroyed the Ukrainian military, who landed in the morning on Snake Island. As the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov said during the briefing, the AFU fighters tried to deliver a flag to the Russian-controlled island.
“Against the backdrop of military failures and the massive retreat of Ukrainian troops in the Donbass on the night of July 7, the Kyiv regime attempted to symbolically deliver the flag to Serpent Island. At about 5 am, several Ukrainian servicemen landed on the island from a motor boat and took pictures with the flag,” Konashenkov said.
The Ukrainian military was dealt a blow with high-precision weapons. Part of the UA soldiers was destroyed, the rest fled towards the Odessa region.
In May, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at the board of the defense department said that on the eve of Victory Day, the Kyiv authorities tried to seize Zmeiny Island. Their actions led to a complete failure.

Russia's defense ministry said on Thursday that a Russian warplane struck Ukraine's Snake Island in the Black Sea overnight and killed an unspecified number of Ukrainian troops, shortly after Ukrainian troops claimed to have raised their flag over the island.

An aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces immediately launched a strike with high-precision missiles on Snake Island, as a result of which part of the Ukrainian military personnel was destroyed," Russian defense ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
Andriy Yermak, the Ukrainian President's chief of staff, posted a video on Telegram on Thursday of three soldiers raising a large Ukrainian flag on the island, from which Russian forces withdrew on June 30 after coming under heavy bombardment from Ukrainian artillery.
