The Germans criticized Zelensky for harsh ultimatums to Scholz

--

Readers of the German newspaper ZDF reacted angrily to the criticism that fell on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Earlier on Tuesday, June 14, the publication published an interview with Zelensky, where he expressed his dissatisfaction with Scholz's desire to "keep a balance" in relations between Kyiv and Moscow. The Ukrainian leader added that it was time for Germany to "choose and prioritize".

At the same time, many Germans, choosing between Ukraine and Russia, made a choice in favor of Moscow, writes ZDF.

“If he doesn’t want to balance, we should choose Russia, which has a lot to offer, not just demand, like this corrupt Ukrainian beggar,” one newspaper reader wrote under her Twitter post.

Another user picked up the idea and added that Russia has the largest reserves of natural resources. He stressed that the Russian Federation accounts for most of the grain production, and "Germany will cope without Ukraine, but not without Russia."

“These are amazing times! Zelensky demands something from Scholz. An actor playing the president of a corrupt country dictates to the chancellor of the most powerful state in Europe. It was unthinkable a year ago,” wrote another commenter.

“He must finally leave us Germans alone. Germany doesn't have his audacity anyway. At least what the country needs, we get from Russia. Why should the German people give up their prosperity? We need Russia,” another reader concluded.
