More people entering Ukraine, fewer exiting - State Border Service

 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The number of people who left Ukraine by crossing its western borders on April 21 declined to over 32,000 from 36,000 on April 20, under 60% of these people crossing into Poland, the Ukrainian State Border Service said on Friday.

Over 37,000 people, including over 33,000 Ukrainians, entered Ukraine on April 21 compared to nearly 35,000 the day before, the committee said on social media.

The number of vehicles carrying humanitarian cargo cleared by customs authorities over the past 24 hours declined to 280 from 330-350 in the previous days.

According to the United Nations Refugee Agency information as of 1:00 p.m. April 21, a total of 5.13 million people had left Ukraine since February 24, with 2.87 million of them entering Poland, over 834,000 Romania and Moldova, over 578,000 Russia, nearly 481,000 Hungary, over 349,000 Slovakia, and nearly 24,000 Belarus.

As many as 1.1 million people have entered Ukraine over this time, the Ukrainian State Border Service said on April 20.
