NATO Seeks to Show That It Lays Down Law in Europe, Says Russian Top Diplomat - Tasnim News Agency

NATO is striving to maintain its superiority in every field, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters on Thursday.

"Why does NATO maintain such a position? I see no other explanation than a stubborn determination to maintain its superiority in every area, demonstrating everyone that it is NATO that dictates the rules in Europe," the top diplomat noted, TASS reported.

Lavrov pointed out that Russia was still ready to resume dialogue with NATO. "(These talks) will start sooner or later," the Russian top diplomat said.

The NATO countries show understanding during contacts with Moscow, but when they get together, "something happens", the foreign minister stated. "Perhaps, it happens, as the US has already taken the lead there and is giving orders. This is regrettable," the top diplomat mentioned.
