The investigations into the assassination of former Haitian President Jovenel Moise took an unexpected twist on Tuesday, as the country's top prosecutor has sought charges against Prime Minister Ariel Henry following his alleged involvement in the assassination of Moise.
Port-au-Prince prosecutor Bedford Claude also issued an order on Tuesday banning Henry from leaving Haiti.
Henry was summoned to testify after the investigators confirmed a series of phone calls between him and Joseph Felix Badion, one of the three main suspects in the assassination. Badion, a former Haitian Justice Ministry official, is currently believed to be on the run.

El primer ministro de Haití, Ariel Henry, dictó este martes la destitución de del fiscal Bel-Ford Claude, horas después de que el funcionario imputara al jefe de Gobierno por el asesinato del presidente Jovenel Moise, informó el periódico Gazzette Haití.
ReplyDeleteLa decisión fue adoptada el lunes, pero la carta en la que el mandatario determina el cese del funcionario fue divulgada este martes por el Gobierno.
El sábado, la Oficina de Protección Ciudadana (OPC) de Haití hizo un llamado a la dimisión de Henry, tras ser citado por la justicia como parte de las investigaciones llevadas a cabo sobre el magnicidio, ocurrido el 7 de julio pasado.
