Los líderes de la Unión Europea han rechazado un llamado por parte de Alemania y Francia para mantener conversaciones formales con el presidente ruso Vladímir Putin. Unos 10 países del bloque se han opuesto a la iniciativa, informa Bloomberg.
Según señala el medio, la negativa de algunos de los miembros del bloque para organizar una reunión con el mandatario de Rusia representa una rara derrota pública para Angela Merkel en lo que podría ser su última cumbre de la Unión Europea como canciller alemana.

The EU heads of states and governments have discussed and rejected the initiative proposed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron to hold a meeting between the EU leaders and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing its diplomatic sources.
