Au moins quatre Palestiniens dont trois "combattants" du mouvement islamiste Hamas ont été tués vendredi 20 juillet par l'armée israélienne qui a mené des bombardements intenses dans cette enclave palestinienne en réponse, selon elle, à des "tirs" contre ses soldats près de la frontière.
"Chacun dans la bande de Gaza doit s'éloigner du précipice. Pas la semaine prochaine. Pas demain. Immédiatement. Ceux qui veulent provoquer une guerre entre Palestiniens et Israéliens ne doivent pas y parvenir", a déclaré l'envoyé spécial de l'ONU pour le Moyen-Orient, Nickolay Mladenov.

The Jerusalem Post reported on Saturday that Israel and Hamas have agreed to cease fire in the Gaza Strip after a day of cross-border hostilities, adding that Palestinian armed groups in the enclave confirmed their willingness to bring back peace to mediators in Egypt.
"Egyptian and international efforts have brought a lull in fighting between the occupying forces and Palestinian groups," Barhum said.
