NORTH Korea has threatened to cancel a historic summit between Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump after US and South Korean forces carried out 'provocative' joint drills this week.
The secretive state announced it has cancelled talks with South Korea scheduled for tomorrow for the same reason, the Seoul-based Yonhap news agency reported.
Kim is due to meet with President Trump in Singapore for talks aimed at bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula.
But North Korea today cast doubt over whether the summit would take place.
The hermit kingdom said the ongoing ‘Max Thunder’ drills carried out by American and South Korean air power as a rehearsal for invasion and labelled the exercises a deliberate provocation.
The two-week exercise began on Friday (May 11) and involves some 100 warplanes.
