Syria Reports Rocket Attacks on Military Bases in Aleppo, Hama

Syria Reports Rocket Attacks
Rockets struck Syrian military bases in Hama and Aleppo late Sunday in what state-run television calls new "aggression" by the enemy.

Syrian officials gave no details on who is responsible or if there were any damage or casualties.

Israel is suspected of being behind an attack on a Syrian air base used by Iran earlier this month. Tehran claims seven Iranians were killed.

Israel has warned it would react forcefully anytime it believes an attack against its territory or aircraft is possible. It also blames Iran for arming Hezbollah militiamen.

  1. A military source said that a new aggression targeted military positions in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo provinces with rockets at around 10:30 PM on Saturday.

Earlier, SANA’s reporter said that explosions were heard on Saturday night in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo provinces, and that the authorities are working to identify the cause of the explosions.

  2. After Syria announced that several of its military bases located in the provinces of Hama and Aleppo had come under missile fire, reports by some media outlets suggested that the missile attack had targeted what they called Iranian military bases and that Iranians were killed as a result.

However, an informed source, speaking to Tasnim on Monday, denied such reports.
