Chemical weapons experts to arrive in Douma tomorrow

Russia had visited the site
Russia has said international inspectors will be allowed to visit the site of a suspected chemical weapons attack in Syria tomorrow – 11 days after the incident.

The US and the UK both have both accused Russia of impeding the inspectors.

Russia blamed delays on Saturday’s airstrikes by the US, France and the UK and security issues on the ground.

Inspectors from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons arrived in the Syrian capital last week to inspect the site in Douma, just 10km northeast of Damascus.

The US envoy to the OPCW has expressed concern that Russia had visited the site and "may have tampered with it" to impede the investigation – an allegation Russia has rejected.
