Syrian Official Denounces Washington Group’s Informal Paper on Syria Destiny

Head of the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation to Vienna Bashar al-Ja’afari strongly rejected an informal paper released by Washington Group (United States, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan) which elaborates the details of a plan to partition the war-torn country.


In a press conference at the end of Vienna’s meeting on Friday, al-Ja’afari described the leaking of ‘informal paper’ as intentional and said, “This in itself is like a black comedy."

He called the release of informal paper a conspiracy against the political process for resolution of Syria crisis and said that how does a country like America which created and sponsored Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization, and is still supporting it, can talk about the political solution and the future in Syria? al-Jaafari added.

The official pointed to the US, Britain, France, Jordan and Saudi Arabia’s support for terrorist groups in Syria and said that this so-called informal paper is totally unacceptable because the Syrian people have not and will not accept solutions that are parachuted or brought to them on tanks.

He criticized the text of the informal paper, noting that the writers have tried to show that they want revival of the political process in Geneva but in fact they seek to “kill it and attend its funeral”.
