Syrian Army Advancing Slowly North of Deir Ezzur
The Syrian Army troops have been advancing slowly against ISIL in the Northern outskirts of Deir Ezzur city following the terrorist group's move to use civilians as human shield, a military sources said on Monday.

The source said that ISIL does not allow civilians to leave the battlefield in the Northern outskirts of Deir Ezzur city to use them as human shield during the army men's operations in the region.

The source further added that the army units continued hitting ISIL's positions in Huweija Kateh region North of Deir Ezzur, killing a number of the gunmen.

The source added that the army men are advancing in Huweija Kateh cautiously in order to save the civilians' lives that are used as human shield by the ISIL.

A military source reported on Sunday that the army Forces resumed a fresh operation to retake control over the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur after they lost the town to the ISIL on Saturday.

The source said that the Syrian fighter jets and choppers started targeting ISIL's defense lines near Albu Kamal, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The source further said that a large number of ISIL terrorists, including several field commanders that led the recapture of Albu Kamal, were killed in the air raids.

The source went on to say that the army's elite forces launched their operation from the town of al-Mayadeen towards Northwest of Albu Kamal.
