More than 300 people were injured in clashes with police during voting on Sunday in Catalonia's independence referendum.


Police officers, under orders from the Spanish government in Madrid, are preventing people from voting, which began at 9 a.m. at thousands of sites.

Police at schools warned parents that they would be arrested if they did not leave the premises by 6 a.m. local time Sunday.
