Juncker: if Catalonia votes independence it will be left out of the EU

The president of the European Commission said on Thursday that in the event Catalonia ever voted in favor of seeking its independence from Spain, the European Union would respect its decision but the hypothetical new state would be left out of the EU.


Jean-Claude Juncker spoke during a YouTube interview, later rebroadcast on Euronews TV channel, where he answered questions from three young European "youtube" stars and said:
