Russian officials have warned their counterparts in the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) against any action that could violate the long-awaited nuclear deal signed with Tehran last year, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanayee said.
"As an influential member of the G5+1, Russia has warned other members of the group to remain committed to their undertakings based on the nuclear deal," Sanayee said in an interview with the state TV on Sunday.
Noting that Russia has reminded other world powers about Iran's full compliance with its undertakings based on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, he said, "It has asked other members of the G5+1 to avoid any measure damaging or violating the implementation of the JCPOA."
Sanayee described extension of the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) by the US Senate for another 10 years as a violation of the nuclear deal, and stressed, "As Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Khamenei) has said, ISA approval and implementation will be followed by the Islamic Republic of Iran's firm response."
