Jordan policeman killed in shootout in Karak: security source

Gunmen Tuesday killed a Jordanian policeman in a shootout in Karak where a weekend attack claimed by ISIS killed 10 people, a security source said.

A second policeman was wounded after security forces launched a raid in search of suspects linked to Sunday's attack, according to the source who declined to be identified, adding that the operation was ongoing.

The general security department, in a statement carried by the official Petra news agency, said the operation was launched to track down a number of wanted suspects who were holed up in a house in Karak.
