Kremlin as yet not optimistic about terms of Syrian settlement

There are no reasons for optimism about time of settlement in Syria as yet, the Russian president’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with the Vesti V Subbotu weekly television program on Saturday in a response to a question - for how long Syria will continue.

"I would love to be optimistic to say it may be seen now in future (end of fighting terrorism and a settlement of conflict in Syria - TASS), but, unfortunately, the information we receive would not allow us be thoughtlessly optimistic," he said.

"Clearly, the international community faces very long and tense work," he added stressing "anyway, Syria’s problem should be settled.".
