Moscow satisfied by Syria deal implementation despite provocations — Kremlin

Russia is satisfied by how the deal with the United States on Syria is being implemented despite a number of provocations, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters on Thursday.

"In general, we are satisfied by the process, despite some provocations. Nevertheless, the agreements are being implemented now," Ushakov said.

On September 10, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry coordinated in Geneva a package of five documents aimed at reinstating ceasefire in Syria and laying down the foundation for the resumption of the political process.

The top diplomats also agreed to create a special Russian-US center for separating the opposition from terrorists, coordinating the Russian and US airstrikes on extremists and ensuring humanitarian access to Syria’s Aleppo.

The 48-hour long ceasefire came into effect from 1600GMT (7.00 p.m. Moscow time) on September 12. Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Wednesday the Russian side calls to extend the ceasefire regime for another 48 hours across Syria.
