Cyprus parliament votes for resolution on lifting anti-Russian sanctions. None of the lawmakers voted against the initiative.

The parliament of Cyprus has voted for the resolution on lifting EU sanctions against Russia.

The document that was submitted by the members of the Progressive Party of Working People has been approved by 33 deputies while 17 abstained. None of the lawmakers voted against the initiative.

The resolution contains the appeal of the lawmakers to the government of Cyprus to start working on removal of sanctions against Russia in the framework of the European Council.

The document also urges creation of conditions that would prompt Russia to lift the ban on import of Cyprian goods.
