Baghdad bombing toll rises to 292: Health Ministry

The death toll from one of the worst bombing's in Iraqi history rose to 292 Thursday, the Health ministry said in a statement.

A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-rigged vehicle in Baghdad's Karrada district early Sunday as it teemed with shoppers ahead of the holiday marking the end of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, sparking infernos in nearby buildings.

The identities of 177 people killed in the bombing, which ripped through a crowded shopping area early on Sunday, have yet to be determined, while 115 bodies have been handed over to families, Health Minister Adila Hamoud said in a statement...
