The European Union has issued a warning to Poland and may deprive of its voting rights

The leadership of the European Union officially warned the Polish government of violation of the principle of the rule of law – one of the fundamental principles of the European Alliance.

About it reports on Wednesday, June 1, a website of news service of the BBC.

The reason for this step was the reform of the constitutional court of the country, which, according to European officials, makes it impossible to review and veto bills.

The warning of the European Commission for Poland is fraught with deprivation of the right to vote in the EU. The government has two weeks to reply.

Polish conservative party «Law and Justice» (PiS) came to power in October last year and in December, changes were made to the work of the constitutional court, which, according to opponents, was deprived of his right to review laws.

From this moment the Polish government ignores the decision of the court, including stating that this reform is unconstitutional.

The Minister of justice and attorney General of Poland Zbigniew stated that he was «shocked and saddened» by the position taken in relation to his country, the European Commission, saying that the government is ready for a «massive compromise».
