The Armenian defense Ministry reported the death of five volunteers as a result of the attack on the bus caused to Azerbaijani combat unmanned aerial vehicle. On Monday, April 4, reported Interfax press Secretary of the Armenian defense Minister Artsrun Hovhannisyan.

The incident occurred in the Northern direction of the contact line of Karabakh and Azerbaijani forces. In the vehicle there were Armenian volunteers, he said. “Five people died. Among the dead — heads of rural administrations”, — said Hovhannisyan.

Earlier on Monday it was reported that the Minister of defense of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov has ordered the armed forces to be ready to attack Stepanakert, the capital of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). As emphasized in the military, attacks will be made, “if the enemy will not stop attacking our settlements”.

April 4, the Azerbaijani defense Ministry announced the destruction of 12 armoured vehicles and 170 soldiers of the Armenian armed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh. On the same day in the power structures of NKR informed about significant losses of the Azerbaijani army: 300 killed, thousands more wounded and 20 wrecked tanks.

On the night of 2 April in the Karabakh conflict zone was a violation of the truce, in which the parties accused each other.

Nagorno-Karabakh, populated mostly by ethnic Armenians, is located on the territory of Azerbaijan. The region declared independence in 1991. The active phase of hostilities between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces over the control of Nagorny Karabakh started in 1992. In 1994, Azerbaijan, Armenia and the unrecognized Republic has signed, in particular, with the mediation of Russia, the Bishkek Protocol on ceasefire.
