UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura called Monday upon international community to exert efforts for making the intra-Syrian dialogue a success.
De Mistura, in a press conference in Geneva, said preconditions are not acceptable, and today’s agenda is based on Resolution No. 2254 and on the principles of Geneva communique.
The UN envoy pointed out that talk of some sides on going to Plan B means going back to war, which is bad by all standards.
Some hampering sides tried to foil the intra-Syrian dialogue but we will help hold it by all possible means, and I will meet the delegation of the Syrian government in less than an hour, De Mistura affirmed.
The UN envoy stressed that standards that allow all sides to participate in the inter-Syrian dialogue should be found.
He said that the inter- Syrian dialogue should tackle all issues including boosting the agreement of the cessation of hostilities.
” The Syrian people are the ones to determine their future and we should help them achieve that.” De Mistura affirmed.
He went on to say that after this round of talks finishes, there will be a new round after a ten-day break within a roadmap with this regard.
