Croatia imposes quota for migrants

Croatian Interior Ministry confirmed the country would introduce a quota for migrants and would allowed only 580 of them to cross its border a day, just like Slovenia, Croatian newspaper Vecernji List reported on Saturday.

The news was first confirmed by Slovenian police and later by the Croatian Interior Ministry as well, the report said.

It was agreed by police directors from FYROM [***], Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria, the report quoted Slovenian Interior Ministry as saying.

The decision was made under pressure from Austria, which has recently restricted the entry to a daily maximum of 3,200 migrants in transit and 80 asylum applicants, the report added.
