Nine migrants, two of them babies, drowned after the boat carrying them capsized off Turkey's Aegean coast on Tuesday.
The Doğan news agency reported that the boat capsized after leaving the coast of the Seferihisar district of İzmir province, close to the Greek island of Samos.
Eleven people who were on board managed to swim back to shore, and people who noticed them alerted the authorities.
The Turkish coast guard then recovered nine bodies from the sea and rescued two migrants.
