33 migrants killed as two migrant boats capsize in Aegean off Turkey

A total of 33 migrants drowned on Feb. 8 after two boats capsized off Turkey’s Aegean coast in two separate incidents.

At least 22 migrants were killed when a boat carrying migrants bound for the Greek island of Lesbos capsized off Turkey’s Edremit Bay.

The Turkish Coast Guard rescued four migrants from the sea.

In a separate incident, 11 migrants were killed off İzmir’s Dikili coast due to another capsizing, while three migrants were rescued.
