  1. No agreement with Turkey on energy, we continue our plans...

President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades stressed on Saturday that there was no understanding whatsoever with Turkey with regard to the withdrawal of the Turkish seismic vessel “Barbaros” from Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the developments with regard to the ENI company.

Invited to comment on statements made by Turkish Minister of Energy Taner Yıldız that there was an understanding for the withdrawal of “Barbaros” and the withdrawal of ENI’s platform from Cyprus’ EEZ, the President rejected this statement, saying that there was no such understanding whatsoever.

President Anastasiades pointed out the government proceeds with its energy plans.

“We proceed with our plans. If there were technical difficulties (with regard to ENI) then, that is completely different, but certainly there was absolutely no understanding whatsoever,” he stressed, and recalled that the government suspended its participation in the Cyprus talks demanding the restoration of the status quo ante before the suspension of the talks and Turkey`s illegal actions in Cyprus` EEZ.

Furthermore, he welcomed the fact that `Barbaros` withdrew from the Cypriot EEZ, and expressed the wish that logic prevails. The continuation of the Cyprus dialogue, he said, dictates mutual respect, no threats or blackmails...............http://www.parikiaki.com/2015/04/no-agreement-with-turkey-on-energy-we-continue-our-plans/
