FYROM manages to find solution on Russia's pipeline cancellation (FYROM news)

FYROM is trying to find solutions on the alteration of Russia's gas pipeline route, local media reported on Wednesday.

FYROM deputy prime minister Zoran Stavreski said his country was working to find alternatives and the government would soon inform the public on the progress of finding other gas sources.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday that Russia dropped constructions of South Stream gas pipeline, which was planned to pass under the Black sea, due to the opposition from the European Union.

Russia schemed to bring the pipeline to the Turkish-Greek border and supply gas to Europe.

"If the pipeline passes through Greece, then FYROM could have benefits," said Konstatin Dimitrov, professor from the FYROM Center for Energy Efficiency.
The halt of the construction of South Stream gas pipeline did not affect FYROM consumers heavily, as the existing gas pipeline that brings Russian gas to the country through Bulgaria could satisfy their needs.

  1. Serbiens Präsident will mit Putin persönlich South Stream besprechen ...
