German chancellor Merkel is optimistic about the solution of the name dispute (FYROM news)

By Naser Pajaziti
German chancellor, Angela Merkel declared today that the name dispute between FYROM and Greece must be resolved and according to her, this is the only way that FYROM can become a NATO and European Union (EU) member country.

“The unresolved name dispute between Skopje and Athens is a burden for us. I’m optimistic that a solution can be achieved for this”, said the German chancellor, Angela Merkel today in Dubrovnik in front of the participants in the “Brdo-Brion Process”.

According to her, Germany is ready for constructive compromise for the solution of this issue, but according to her, there cannot be a solution without compromise.

“I believe that we must resolve this. I’ve become part of this process and I’ve thought on possible versions for the name, but I sometimes think that it’s not that much of a complicated process”, said Merkel.
