Hungarian PM urges talks to admit F.Y.R.O.M. to NATO, EU (FYROM Propaganda)

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called for urgent talks aimed at admitting F.Y.R.O.M. to NATO and the European Union (EU), in an address on Wednesday, local wire service MTI reported.

Orban was speaking at an award ceremony after receiving the United FYROM Diaspora's Gotse Delchev award, granted to people who have helped promote the country and FYROM people with their actions.

Orban voiced his commitment to FYROM's NATO and EU membership and called it incomprehensible that these organizations' official bodies had been dragging their heels while acknowledging the country's readiness for potential membership.

The problem, he pointed out, was a long-standing dispute with Greece over FYROM's name.

Greece has a province, also called Macedonia, bordering the FYROM, and sees its use of that name as an undeclared territorial demand on Greece.

Orban underlined his view that this dispute should not prevent substantive talks on FYROM's NATO and EU membership from getting underway.

The United FYROM Diaspora is an international NGO, aimed at safeguarding the rights of F.Y.R.O.Mnians the world over and representing FYROM communities before government and international bodies. Gotse Delchev was a revolutionary figure who lived at the turn of the 19 century.
