  2. Viktor Yanukovich and several other officials have been put on a wanted list, Ukraine's acting interior minister Arsen Avakov posted on his Facebook account.......

"A criminal case has been initiated over mass murder of civilians," it runs. "Yanukovich and some other officials have been put on a wanted list."

Avakov said the whereabouts of Yanukovich, whom the country’s parliament suspended from his presidential duties, are unclear.

The proxy for control over the Interior Ministry’s actions informed that February 21, Yanukovich together with Andrei Klyuyev “has gone by helicopter from Kiev to Kharkov intending to take part in Party of Regions congress”.

“On Saturday, February 22, after spending the night in the state residence in Kharkov, Yanukovich refused to participate in the congress, recorded a video message and went by helicopter to the airport of Donetsk,” Avakov said.

He noted that after arriving to the airport, “together with the guards he changed the helicopter to two private jets of Falcon type and tried to set out”, but the “border guards prevented the departure”.....................http://en.itar-tass.com/world/720668

  3. At least 1,000 protesters block off Kharkov regional administration building....

KHARKOV, February 24. /ITAR-TASS/. At least 1,000 rioters continue to block off the Kharkov administration’s building.

Barricades are being erected and “self-defense posts” are patrolling..

There are no supporters of the local administration although several thousands of people were at the building last night. Traffic has not been blocked off.

The opposition is staying in the administration’s building: it has organized a medical aid post and a dining room on the ground floor. Leaders of Kharkov’s Maidan, as well as several radical groups, are on the first flood.

Governor Mikhail Dobkin has not arrived yet in the office. At 13:00 Moscow time he is expected to meet journalists. No reports on postponing the news conference are available yet. However, it is not clear if the governor is able to come to the building.

On Sunday, the opposition did not allow either the governor or Kharkov Mayor Gennady Kernes to enter the building.

In the meantime, Dobkin and Kernes said they did not intend to resign.

  4. Will NATO annex Ukraine?....

Anyone who believes Washington is deeply enamored of ‘democracy’ in Ukraine must hit eBay, where Saddam Hussein’s WMDs have been found, and are on sale to the highest bidder.

Or pay attention to the non-denial denials of the Obama administration, which swears on a daily basis there’s no ‘proxy war’ or Cold War redux in Ukraine.

In a nutshell; Washington’s bipartisan Ukraine policy has always been anti-Moscow. That implies regime change whenever necessary. As the European Union (EU), geopolitically, is nothing but an annex to NATO, what matters is NATO extending its borders to the Ukraine. Or at least Western Ukraine – which would be a valuable consolation prize.

This is a purely military-centric game – the logic of the whole mechanism ultimately decided in Washington, not in Brussels. It’s about NATO expansion, not ‘democracy’. When neo-con State Department functionary Victoria Nuland had her 15 seconds of fame recently, what she actually meant was “We’re NATO, F**k the EU.” No wonder there will be an urgent NATO Defense Ministers meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, centered on Ukraine.

No one will ever read that in US corporate media – or in academia for that matter. Harvard Professor Francis Boyle talking to Voice of Russia, or Princeton’s Stephen Cohen in a recent article for the Nation, are glaring exceptions.

Every informed analyst knows the mastermind of this ‘policy’, since the 1970s, is Zbigniew ‘The Grand Chessboard’ Brzezinski. Dr. Zbig was US President Barack Obama’s mentor at Columbia and is the Talleyrand of the Obama administration’s foreign policy machine...............http://rt.com/op-edge/will-nato-annex-ukraine-414/

  5. Ukraine estimates that it needs $35 billion in aid to stabilize its economy, acting Finance Minister Yury Kolobkov said.....

The immense figure is exactly the sum of the $15 billion, which Russia pledged to lend in November, when the political crisis was it its first weeks, and the $20 billion, which the EU may lend to a new Ukrainian government, according to Elmar Brok, Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Both Russia and the EU say they want to see a stable government in Ukraine, before any money will actually be transferred. The EU also demands financial reforms in Ukraine as a condition for aid. .......http://rt.com/news/kiev-clashes-rioters-police-571/
