Yarmouk refugee camp gets aid for first time in months

The United Nations relief agency has entered on Saturday Yarmouk refugee camp, where Palestinians struggle with hunger in Syrian capital Damascus.

The camp has received food aid from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) for the first time in months.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Damascus spokesperson Enver Abdulhadi said that he was hopeful and will work hard to send aid “regularly everyday.”

At least 49 residents have died from hunger in the besieged Yarmouk refugee camp.
