Ο Ερντογάν, μιλώντας πριν από τρεις ημέρες σε ανοιχτή συγκέντρωση στην πόλη Πρίζρεν του Κοσόβου δήλωσε ότι αισθάνεται το Κόσοβο σαν δεύτερη πατρίδα του, ότι «το Κόσσοβο είναι Τουρκία» και ότι «οι λαοί του Κοσόβου και της Τουρκίας ανήκουν στην ίδια χώρα».
Ο πρόεδρος της Σερβίας Τόμισλαβ Νίκολιτς αντιδρώντας στη δήλωση του Ερντογάν ανακοίνωσε την απόφασήη του να μην συμμετάσχει στη διάσκεψη των τριών χωρών που πραγματοποιείται κάθε χρόνο από το 2010, μέχρι να ζητήσει συγνώμη η τουρκική κυβέρνηση.
«Αναμένω να επικρατήσει η λογική στην 'Αγκυρα και η Τουρκία να ζητήσει συγνώμη από τη Σερβία. Έως τότε παγώνω τη συμμετοχή μου στην τριμερή διάσκεψη Σερβίας - Τουρκίας- Βοσνίας, διότι η διάσκεψη αυτή δεν πρέπει να είναι συνάντηση φιλοπόλεμων κρατών αλλά δημοκρατικών χωρών που καθοδηγούνται από τη λογική της ειρηνικής συμβίωσης στα Βαλκάνια» αναφέρει στη δήλωση του ο Νίκολιτς. Ο πρόεδρος της Σερβίας χαρακτηρίζει, μάλιστα τη συμπεριφορά του Ερντογάν στο Κόσοβο ως «εισβολή χωρίς τη χρήση όπλων».
Οι δηλώσεις του Ερντογάν προκάλεσαν ανησυχία και στον σερβικό πληθυσμό στο Κόσοβο. Εχθές, περίπου χίλιοι Σέρβοι από το Κόσοβο διαδήλωσαν έξω από το κυβερνητικό κτίριο στο Βελιγράδι ζητώντας από την κυβέρνηση να αντιδράσει στις δηλώσεις του πρωθυπουργού της Τουρκίας. Οι διαδηλωτές ζήτησαν επίσης να επισκεφθούν το Κόσοβο Σέρβοι υπουργοί παραβλέποντας τις απαγορεύσεις που επέβαλε η Πρίστινα.
Ο πρώτος αντιπρόεδρος της κυβέρνησης, Αλεξάνταρ Βούτσιτς απευθυνόμενος στους διαδηλωτές υποσχέθηκε ότι ο ίδιος και άλλοι υπουργοί θα επισκεφτούν το Κόσοβο ενόψει των δημοτικών εκλογών της 3ης Νοεμβρίου. «Έχουμε περισσότερα δικαιώματα στο Κόσοβο από τον Τούρκο πρωθυπουργό και κανείς δεν μπορεί να μας εμποδίσει να το επισκεφτούμε» δήλωσε ο κ. Βούτσιτς. Αναφερόμενος δε στις δηλώσεις του Ταγίπ Ερντογάν διεμήνυσε: «Σεβόμαστε την ισχύ και το μέγεθος της Τουρκίας αλλά δεν είμαστε διατεθειμένοι να επιτρέψουμε σε καμία χώρα, όσο ισχυρή κι αν είναι, να μας ταπεινώνει».

Kosovo issues arrest warrant for Serb minister for illegal entry....
ReplyDelete(Reuters) - Kosovo has issued an arrest warrant for a Serbian minister who entered the country illegally, a police spokesman said on Saturday, a move that may hamper implementation of a deal to normalise ties between Pristina and Belgrade.
Pristina authorities said Aleksandar Vulin, the Serbian minister in charge of Kosovo, had visited ethnic Serbs living in northern Kosovo last week during campaigning for local elections on November 3.
"We have received an arrest warrant on Vulin and we will act accordingly," Kosovo police spokesman Brahim Sadriu said, without giving further details.
Serbia and Kosovo, which declared independence in 2008, signed a landmark deal in April under which Belgrade agreed to cede its de facto hold over a small Serb-populated pocket of Kosovo, whose majority population is ethnic Albanian.
Under the deal, the northern Serb pocket is slated to take part in Kosovo's municipal election on Nov 3.
In part as a reward for the deal, the European Union is expected to open accession talks with Serbia in coming months.
Vulin, who is now back in Belgrade, could not be reached by telephone. A Serbian government spokesman declined to comment.
Earlier this week Serbia's Blic daily quoted Prime Minister Ivica Dacic as saying that the arrest of Vulin would be a violation of the Brussels agreement mediated by the EU's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.
"(Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim) Thaci assured me himself in the presence of Ashton that Vulin can travel to Kosovo whenever and wherever he wants," Dacic was quoted as saying.
Dacic himself visited Kosovo last Saturday and urged Serbs to take part in the municipal election.

Serbia pulls out of tripartite talks with Bosnia and Turkey...
ReplyDeleteSerbia's president says he won't take part in a Balkan initiative with Turkey in protest over reported remarks by Turkey's prime minister in Kosovo.
Serbian media have quoted Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as saying in Kosovo on Wednesday that "Turkey is Kosovo and Kosovo is Turkey." The comment has been widely criticized in Serbia which is sensitive to past Ottoman rule in the Balkans and to any acknowledgement of Kosovo's independence.
Kosovo is a former Serbian province that declared independence in 2008, a move rejected by Belgrade.
President Tomislav Nikolic on Saturday sought an apology for the "scandal," saying he's he's pulling out of talks with Bosnia and Turkey on postwar Balkan stability.
