The Spanish government on Friday said it was prepared for all possible eventualities that could arise from the conflict with regional authorities in Catalonia, where separatists are pushing ahead for an independence referendum consider unconstitutional by Spain.
Government spokesman Íñigo Méndez de Vigo gave an update on the situation during a press conference following a Council of Ministers meeting while tensions with regional leaders in Catalonia who plan to call voters to the polls on Oct. 1.
