An IED has been detonated at the Justice Palace in al-Hamidiyeh, Damascus, the Syrian Arab News Agency reports. It’s reported at least 25 people have been killed in the blast.
A suicide bomber detonated the explosives inside the main building on Wednesday, according to AP. The Justice Palace houses a number of Syrian courts.
The attacker is said to have detonated his explosive device after police attempted to prevent him from entering the building, Ahmed al-Sayyid, a senior state legal official told al-Ikhbariya TV, according to Reuters.
A Damascus Police source told SANA the initial toll is said to be 25, with a number of people injured.
