Traces of explosives found on bodies from crashed Egyptair flight

Egyptian authorities announced Thursday that traces of explosives were found on some of the bodies from the Egyptair crash in May.

According to a statement from the commission that studied the crash, the forensic report indicated traces of explosive materials found on human remains.

The commission said it handed the case to the general prosecutors office as civil aviation legislation demanded they investigate air crashes should there be any evidence of crimes.

However it assured that all its experts would be at the prosecutor's service.

The Egyptair flight 320 traveling from Paris to Cairo crashed into the Mediterranean Sea on May 19, killing all 66 people on board.

The plane disappeared from radars at 00:45 GMT while 280 kilometers (174 miles) away from the Egyptian coast.

At the time, authorities ruled out the possibility that the crash was linked to a terror attack.
