Airstrike kills 12 ISIS "militants" in E. Afghanistan

Air attacks against the hardliner Islamic State (IS) group in the eastern Nangarhar province have killed 12 armed militants and injured two others on Tuesday, spokesman for provincial government Attaullah Khogiani said.


"Acting upon intelligence report, an unmanned plane of security forces targeted the hideouts of Islamic State group in parts of Achin district, Nangarhar province today afternoon as a result 12 rebels were killed and two others injured," Khogiani told Xinhua.


  • There were no casualties on security personnel and civilians, the official added. 


Militants loyal to the IS outfit who are active in parts of Nangarhar province are yet to make comment.
