3,000 civilians flee terrorist/rebel-held areas in Syria's Aleppo

As many as 3,000 civilians have fled terrorist/rebel-held areas in the northern city of Aleppo over the past 24 hours, a monitor group reported Sunday.


The civilians fled the terrorist/rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo toward government-controlled ones in the western part of the city, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

This comes as the Syrian army has taken three important neighborhoods in eastern Aleppo over the past 24 hours, namely Masaken Hanano, the largest rebel-held area in eastern Aleppo, Jabal Badro and Sakhour, a move that has succeeded in dividing rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo.

Earlier in the day, state news agency SANA said 1,500 civilians were evacuated out of terrorist/rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo through routes previously identified by the Syrian army, which has repeatedly called on the rebels to allow civilians to leave.

The Syrian forces fully recaptured Jabal Badro and Sakhour on Sunday, a day after retaking Masaken Hanano.

Meanwhile, the pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV said that Kurdish fighters captured the Bustan al-Basha neighborhood in eastern Aleppo on Sunday.

Military sources said the terrorist/rebels in eastern Aleppo are in a state of confusion as a result of the military advances by their enemies.

The Syrian army made it clear that the operation won't stop until all the rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo are recaptured.
