Some 100 Islamist militants were killed in the Sinai desert by Egyptian airstrikes on Saturday, Sky News Arabic, citing unnamed security sources.
Meanwhile, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said in published comments that security conditions in the Sinai were "improving" and that "efforts are continuing because the war is long," according to Associated Press.
According to Sky, the airstrikes occurred in the cities of El Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid.
The military said the targeted airstrikes had lasted for three hours and had also destroyed arms depots and vehicles used by militants.
